The Leadership Spotlight Shines On: Kim Perkins

1. Where were you born and raised; current city; family hobbies; past business highlights.
I was born and raised in the Bronx, NY. I currently live in Covington, GA. I have 3 grown children, 8 grandchildren and 1 Chiweenie. I met my current husband when I moved to GA. We actually got married on a Carnival Cruise ship. That was the beginning of my LOVE for cruising! We enjoy watching our grandchildren play school sports. My oldest granddaughter plays basketball and received a full scholarship to Livingstone College in NC! I've been in the travel/network marketing industries for the last 10 years and it has flat out changed my life. I LOVE helping people win!

2. How have you grown or personally developed since joining PlanNet?
My 2.5 years in PlanNet Marketing has helped me grow personally into a better leader. I have learned "business patience" and the true meaning of servant leadership. The leaders in this company pour into us without hesitation. During my first convention, walking into the venue and seeing the leaders on the columns in the lobby showed me the true focus was on helping others win and allowing them to shine. Some CEOs focus solely on boasting about themselves and the material things they have accumulated over the years.

3. What drives you; what motivates you?
My motivation has changed over the years. My driving force now is helping those on my team rank up so they can experience the comma in their monthly team-building income.

4. Who would you consider a role model and why?
I consider my Three-Star Director, Mr. William Thurston, as one of my role models. It's rare that you have the opportunity to actually watch your leader grow from the "TRUE" beginning. I have been working with him for the last 10 years, so I was there when he was buying his suits from Goodwill and wasn't the best facilitator of events. I've watched him quit his job and go full-time in network marketing. I am truly inspired by his personal and leadership growth.

5. The three words that describe me best are:
Loyal, dependable, and resilient.

6. If you had some sound advice to give to anyone what would‌ it be?
Be coachable and trainable. Listen to the experts. Master the art of becoming a professional inviter to the events. Leverage the leadership that is in place and experienced. Stop trying to learn everything at once, it will come naturally from being plugged in. Let the ones who have done it already, build your organization for you! Don't overcomplicate this. It's a simple game of following the leaders!

7. What does your life look like five years from now?
I plan to be retired and doing the business full-time. I want to travel the world while helping people add some "fun to their finances" in all the countries we can operate in.
