PlanNet Marketing is pleased to welcome Sam Kinch to the 20/20 Club! Sam tells us, "I’m based in the UK (London region) and work full time as a Senior Manager in the railway industry. When I explain what my job involves, people’s eyes tend to glaze over fairly quickly, but I genuinely love it. My role focuses on large scale infrastructure projects, managing the financial oversight and assurance that sits behind them. I like a process, I like things in the right order, and I enjoy making sure complicated projects are set up properly before they’re delivered.
"I’ve always been a very people focused person and naturally quite optimistic. I enjoy connecting with people, bringing them together and helping things move forward. My slightly unhealthy appreciation for a good process and things being in the right order also helps.
"Working in a heavily regulated industry has also taught me to think carefully about risk and long term stability, which is one of the reasons the idea of building an additional income stream alongside my career really appealed to me.
"Travel has always been a big part of my life. Some of my favourite holidays have been in Malaysia, Thailand, Bali and Australia. I’ve also spent a lot of time travelling around Asia for work over the years, which gave me the chance to explore incredible places, meet amazing people and experience cultures I might never have encountered otherwise.
"I was introduced to PlanNet while I was looking for a way to build an additional income stream alongside a career I already enjoyed. I wasn’t looking to replace what I do. But deep down I knew I wanted to be independent again and eventually return to running my own business, something I had done before Covid. I liked the idea of creating something of my own that could grow steadily in the background and give me more options over time.
"What helped me reach this milestone relatively quickly was keeping things simple and staying consistent. I made sure I felt confident with the training, asked plenty of questions, and then passed that knowledge on. I’ve focused on genuine conversations with people I have things in common with, not just numbers for the sake of reaching 20/20, sharing what I’m doing and helping others understand how it works, if they’re curious.
"My best advice to anyone starting would be not to overthink it. Stay consistent, be 100% yourself, don’t compare yourself to others, and focus on helping people rather than trying to be perfect.
"Interesting fact: I’ve been married for over 20 years, so reaching the 20/20 milestone felt like a fitting coincidence."
