The Leadership Spotlight Shines On: Michelle McCallister

1. Where were you born and raised; current city; family hobbies; past business highlights.
I was born in Miami, Florida while my dad was stationed at Homestead Air Force Base. After his military service, our family moved to Pennsylvania, where I raised my two children, Jessica and Sean.

I have always been a beach person, and six years ago I followed that pull back to Florida. I now live in Englewood, Florida, where I built my dream home just two miles from the beach and feel grateful for this life every day.

In my free time, I love being on the water, especially boating to the sandbar with friends. I am also passionate about bulldogs and volunteer with Florida Bulldog Rescue, helping with fostering and transportation, and adopting senior and special needs bulldogs.

Professionally, I have been a Physical Therapist for 30 years, serving as a field clinician, director, and in IT support, experiences that helped shape my leadership foundation.

2. How have you grown or personally developed since joining PlanNet?
The growth has been transformational. I am genuinely a different person than I was before joining PlanNet. I have gained confidence in myself, in my voice, in my ability to present, and in my leadership.

PlanNet provides constant opportunities for personal and professional development, and I take full advantage of them. Through this journey, I have learned to lead with clarity, conviction, and belief.

3. What drives you; what motivates you?
What originally drove me was freedom. Freedom from financial stress, freedom over my time, and the ability to see the world without asking permission.

Today, what drives me most is legacy. I have built a business that can protect my children and their future families if life takes an unexpected turn. That sense of security now fuels my desire to help other families build the same kind of foundation.

What motivates me has always come from within. I am not motivated by external competition. I compete with myself. Every day, my goal is to show up a little better than the day before.

4. Who would you consider a role model and why?
My greatest role model is my mom. She became a teenage mother in the 1960s and refused to let her circumstances define her future. She dropped out of high school to have me, later helped build a successful jewelry business with my dad, and became a self-taught stock market investor.

Coming from one of the poorest areas of the country, she overcame significant adversity and built a life of independence and success. Watching her do that taught me that no matter where you start, you can create something extraordinary.

5. The three words that describe me best are:
Compassionate. Strong. Driven.

6. If you had some sound advice to give to anyone what would‌ it be?
Trust the process. What feels far away today will arrive faster than you think. Time moves quickly whether you take action or not. If you stay focused, show up consistently, and invest in yourself, you will be amazed at where you are in just a few short years.

7. What does your life look like five years from now?
I am happy, relaxed, and surrounded by bulldogs on the beach. My team is thriving as we continue helping hundreds of families build legacy businesses.

My children have started their own families and have the comfort of knowing they are financially secure. I am traveling everywhere, experiencing the world without limitations, and speaking on the PlanNet stage at convention and around the world.
