The Leadership Spotlight Shines On: Maureen Adams
1. Personal: Where you were born and raised; current city; family; hobbies; past business highlights.
I was born and raised in Steubenville, Ohio. Moved to Baltimore, Maryland, married, and raised three children; now we are grandparents and living in beautiful historic Charleston, South Carolina. My hobby is making crafts from seashells and I love a fun girls night at Bingo or Bunco.
2. How have you grown or personally developed since joining PlanNet?
The leadership training and support is like no other that I've ever been involved in and because of that, I'm definitely more knowledgeable and confident.
3. What drives you; what motivates you?
Travel! I want to see the world. As was one of seven children, my father was a steel mill worker and mom a stay-at-home mother, we never took a vacation. In fact, the internet was not a thing so I'm not even sure until I was an older teen that I knew people went on vacation. We just went to the lake for the day and I assumed everyone did that!
4. Who would you consider a role model and why?
Most definitely Four-Star Director Rachel Russell. She has overcome so many obstacles including the same financial circumstances I grew up with along with many other life obstacles. She is a stellar example of all 13 pillars of leadership and never waivers.
5. The three words that describe me best are:
Loyal, hardworking, and loving. I love God and I love people.
6. If you had some sound advice to give to anyone, what would it be?
Don't give up, believe in yourself even if you feel like no one else believes in you. I believe in you because if I can do it, so can you!
7. What does your life look like five years from now?
A passport full of stamps and a monthly income that excels beyond what I ever thought could be possible for me.
