The Leadership Spotlight Shines On: Lauren Brookes

1. Where were you born and raised; current city; family hobbies; past business highlights.
I was born in Solihull, a town near Birmingham and I’ve lived all over the West Midlands, I now live in Tamworth with my husband, Chris, and two children, Ted (6) and Betsy (3). My hobbies include reading and taking my children on activities, but honestly I live and breathe the business and everything that has bought with it, travelling and making new friends!

2. How have you grown or personally developed since joining PlanNet?
I joined PlanNet with no confidence, ambition or personal goals. My 10 year career on the railway and being a mother had made me complacent and safe. It wasn’t until being in the business for six months that I truly understood what I had started and that’s when it all changed. I put myself forward for everything, hosted Zoom calls when I was so nervous my hands were shaking! I booked the Orlando convention with my last railway paycheck after quitting and going all in with this business; I knew I was on the right path and needed to go all in!

3. What drives you; what motivates you?
My driving force are my team and the close knit girls who have helped me build a lovely community of women, all different backgrounds and experiences, a diverse group of my closest friends. All of them cheering each other on for the small and big wins! My motivation will always be my family, my husband has always been my biggest supporter and without him I couldn’t have taken the risk of quitting my stable career and going all in with this business.

4. Who would you consider a role model and why?
Before I started this business, I would have said someone famous or in the public eye. Now, I would say the women I am following in their footsteps, because they are laying the pavement for people like me. Normal moms with normal backgrounds are creating legacy incomes through this business model and they are showing us exactly how they did it.

5. The three words that describe me best are:
Loyal, Genuine and Determined.

6. If you had some sound advice to give to anyone what would‌ it be?
Don’t let the noise of people’s opinions drown out your own inner voice.

7. What does your life look like five years from now?
The last few months we’ve had to make a decision to homeschool our son, something that we never thought would be possible but without me being in the position I am now, it would never have happened. The flexibility of homeschooling will allow us to travel more as a family and I would love to go travelling for a whole year! Lots of planning and saving involved, but something we are working towards!
