The Leadership Spotlight Shines On: Konitra Larkins

1. Where were you born and raised; current city; family hobbies; past business highlights.
I was born in Chicago, IL and raised in a northern Chicagoland suburb. I currently reside in Kenosha, WI. I have worked full-time within higher education for over 11 years. I also have a background in social work and at one time I worked in the field of foster care and adoptions. That field was rewarding yet draining at times. I have always enjoyed helping people. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and living life to the fullest! I come from a traveling family. I grew up taking vacations with my immediate and extended family. Travel has always been a way of life for me and my family. I TRULY LOVE THIS BUSINESS! I have experienced a lot of success in my short amount of time in the business. I have been in the business for less than two years! I have earned awards like Fireball, Breakthrough, 20/20, One-Star, Two-Star, and Three-Star Director. I am immensely proud to say that I have helped three people on my team achieve One-Star Director.

2. How have you grown or personally developed since joining PlanNet?
Every day I am learning from my Coaches how to be a better leader for my team. I never imagined that I would be leading a team of 600 plus individuals. Since joining this business, I have improved my emotional intelligence. I have learned that business and emotions cannot mix. To be successful, you must learn to keep your emotions in check. It is not easy; however, it is necessary to be able to lead others.

3. What drives you; what motivates you?
My aging parents are what drive me. My parents have sacrificed so much for their children to have a better life. As my parents reach retirement age, I know they are not fully prepared. I want to be able to provide for them once they fully retire. I do not want them to have to worry about how they will make it from day to day. I am truly motivated by the income that I can earn from this business and the fact that I can leave a legacy pledge for my family.

4. Who would you consider a role model and why?
My grandmother was my role model. She was a strong hard-working woman. She was a pastor and worked in the education field. I have seen her help so many people. She would feed the homeless, run clothing drives, mentor children outside of her normal 9-5 job, donate money to different charities, etc. She had a passion for helping others.

5. The three words that describe me best are:
Consistent, determined, and brave

6. If you had some sound advice to give to anyone what would‌ it be?
The best advice I can give is to be consistent and take the initiative. Do not always wait for someone to tell you what to do or how to do it. Always jump in and try and obtain the knowledge you need to be successful.

7. What does your life look like five years from now?
In five years, I plan to have secured my Ruby Ring and working my business full-time. I will be enjoying my personal freedom, time freedom, and financial freedom within the next five years. Thanks to this business!
