The Leadership Spotlight Shines On: Karen Anderson

I was born and raised in Wigan, Greater Manchester, UK. As a single mum of two, I also care for my Nana while building my PlanNet Marketing business.

Travel has always been a passion of mine and I’ve seen a lot of the world. I worked in the travel industry years ago for a well-known tour operator, but I later pursued a successful 16-year career in the NHS. Unfortunately, when illness struck, I was treated poorly by my employer and realized I was just a number to them.

When I joined PlanNet, I was a shy and broken woman. Domestic abuse had taken a toll on me, and I struggled to believe in myself. But this opportunity has not only given me the pledge for my children’s future, it’s been a transformative journey of personal growth for me.

Through PlanNet, I’ve pushed myself far beyond my comfort zone. I’ve delivered presentations, traveled alone (something I never thought I’d do), and met friends for life. I’ve learned that it’s okay to be scared, as long as you do it anyway. My coach, Louise Gatland, has been an incredible support, always seeing potential in me and pushing me to overcome my fears.

My children are my greatest motivation, but so am I. I’ve grown so much already, and I’m determined to continue building a better future for us.

In five years, my life will look completely different. Breaking the bank with financial freedom, a life of abundance, and helping others achieve the same. Losing my grandad last year reminded me that life is short, and we only get one chance to make it count. He was my biggest cheerleader, and this business gave me the flexibility to spend precious time nursing him when it mattered most.

I’m proud to describe myself as a team player who leads with heart and loyalty. My advice? Stop telling yourself you can’t, because you can. Choose positivity, take action, and do it messy if you have to, JUST DO IT anyway.
