The Leadership Spotlight Shines On: Garceau Alexander

1. Where were you born and raised; current city; family hobbies; past business highlights.
I was born and raised in Columbus, Georgia. I currently live between Virginia and Columbus, soon to be relocating back to my hometown. I'm a mom to an amazing son who is the apple of my eye. Some of my hobbies include reading, having brunch with my girlfriends, learning photography, and of course, traveling.

2. How have you grown or personally developed since joining PlanNet?
Always one to clap for others, standing in the background, this business has taught me to stand in the forefront and clap for myself. Because I, too, deserve to be here and to live out my dreams as I see so many of my mentors doing. Professional development and the connections I've made with so many amazing business partners throughout the PlanNet have inspired me to challenge myself more, to complete what I've started, and to continue to reach for everything I've ever desired.

3. What drives you; what motivates you?
What honestly motivates me is the hard times I endured from time to time once becoming a single parent back in 2012. I never want to live the way I lived struggling at times to make ends meet. So I keep that in the forefront of my mind every single day so that I continue to push myself to the next level in business.

4. Who would you consider a role model and why?
My mother! A single mom of four, she always showed strength, passion, and determination throughout life when raising my siblings and me! When life got hard, she pushed through. I never saw her once give up. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was having a hard time in basic training. I wanted to quit so many times. But one piece of advice she gave me has been with me ever since and will be for a lifetime ..."What's worth it won't come easy or everyone would be doing it."  She is the reason I'm still here today having achieved One-Star Director and well on my way to Two-Star. And so my mom, she is my forever role model. Because let's face it. What we do is not easy by any means, but it's soooo worth it! Thank you, mom!

5. The three words that describe me best are:
Optimistic, determined, and compassionate.

6. If you had some sound advice to give to anyone what would‌ it be?
My advice would be to first believe that you deserve for all of your dreams to come to fruition. Then believe that you can do this. Stay plugged in to the winning culture and be coachable. Don't wait for tomorrow...do it now, do it scared! Write your goals down, see and speak them every single day. Then work toward them. If you miss your goal date, readjust your goals, then increase your efforts so you hit it the next time. But no matter what, NEVER GIVE UP.  Because the moment you give up, you're giving up on who matters most---YOU!

7. What does your life look like five years from now?
Five years from now I will be a Three-Star Director well on my way to Four-Star with at a minimum of 3 to 5 Directors in my organization. Together we will continue to free thousands of families so they too can leave a legacy for their families.
