The Leadership Spotlight Shines On: Cleo De Rose

1. Where were you born and raised; current city; family hobbies; past business highlights.
I was born in Cheltenham, a town in a very pretty area of England called The Cotswolds. Every picture perfect image you have of cottages in England is an image of this area. I left briefly to go to University in York but returned to Cheltenham when my mum passed away when I was young and have lived here ever since . I am married to my husband of 10 years but we have been together 19 years this year. We sadly have not had children so our family is made up of our dog Tilly - she's a beagle crossed with a Jack Russel with a big personality!

I love to travel of course and I am also a big foodie! I am passionate about music - and love to go to concerts, festivals and Ibiza closing parties each year. Yes, even in my 40s!

I always worked in the Hospitality & Travel Industry in management roles. I was at the luxury tour operator Abercrombie and Kent for 16 years in my last employed role where I managed a large team of sales and operations responsible for over $10 million dollars a year in annual sales. We handled very luxury tours of Europe and our client base was mostly from the USA - often business moguls and celebrities.

2. How have you grown or personally developed since joining PlanNet?
Being part of PlanNet has really given me purpose at a time when I felt a bit lost in that regard having realised I was not going to be a mum. Going to my first convention really helped me to see that the reason for what we do is helping others. Once that clicked for me everything changed.

I founded a brand called She Travels with my upline Lesley Merrick and we became very focused on helping women globally be able to live with more flexibility and options. Mums looking for an uncapped income that means they can still be present for their children or women of all ages that do not want to be limited by a 9-5 job.

3. What drives you; what motivates you?
My husband runs a wealth management business, which I am also a director in, and my goal is to have an income eventually that allows him to sell the business and us be able to travel together at any time.

Alongside my personal goals, I am now motivated to show up for my team and the ladies in our community to help them achieve their goals with PlanNet. To show them that as you grow on a personal level, your business grows too. I want to help as many ladies as possible change their lives for the better.

4. Who would you consider a role model and why?
One of my role models is the actress Emma Thompson. She is a dedicated activist and supports many causes related to human rights but as a UN women Goodwill Ambassador she supports gender equality initiatives. As an actress she often represents mature complex female characters challenging industry standards that focus on appearance. She is known for having supported many other female actors in their careers such as Kate Winslet and she seems like great fun as well!

5. The three words that describe me best are:
Tenacious, Resilient and Supportive.

6. If you had some sound advice to give to anyone what would‌ it be?
Do not let life pass you by - none of us know what is around the corner and all of our lives are too short to waste any opportunity. Do not be the person that joined this business but didn't start! You owe it to yourself and to the others you can help to go for it!

7. What does your life look like five years from now?
In five years, I will have helped thousands of people change their lives for the better by sharing the PlanNet opportunity and will be a Five- or even Six-Star Director! I am so inspired by Caroline Hamilton achieving that!

My husband and I will spend the winter abroad and travel more than ever. I can't wait to book the luxury travel for myself that I used to sell!
