The Leadership Spotlight Shines On: Caroline Hamilton

1. Where were you born and raised; current city; family hobbies; past business highlights.
I was born and raised in Wales in the United Kingdom, then moved to London to work in Investment Banking when I was 21. After 10 years working in Canary Wharf, I left banking to have my first son, George, and never returned as I wanted to spend as much time with my children as possible whilst they were young, and that wasn’t realistic if I continued my career in banking.

That was 11 years ago now. I have since then had two more boys, Henry (9) and Freddie (7). When my youngest started school and I had more time, I started to think about options to continue my career, but realised that flexible options for mothers were very hard to find. I wanted to be able to collect my children from school every day, be there to help them with their homework and if they were sick. When I found out about this business and the lifestyle it could offer me, I went all in from the start. I could see the time freedom and flexibility it offered to work this around my family and I have never looked back.

2. How have you grown or personally developed since joining PlanNet?
My confidence has grown hugely. When you start to see the results and realise that all your hard work is paying off, it changes everything. My mission is to show anyone who doubts themselves that if I can do this, then so can you. It requires time and commitment, but the results are waiting for you at the end of the hard work and anything is possible in this business.

3. What drives you; what motivates you?
My three boys. I want to offer them the best life possible. One of my boys was very unwell at 18 months old and as a result has significant learning disabilities. He may not have the opportunities in life that I have so I want to make sure I provide for his future so he can have the best care possible for the rest of his life. This business is making that possible. This motivates me every day to work harder, stay positive and do everything I can to provide a better life for him and his brothers so they won’t always be relied on to care for him when I can’t.

I always say - when I lay my head on my pillow at the end of the day, if I know I couldn’t have done any more then I have done enough. I apply this rule to every area of my life.

4. Who would you consider a role model and why?
My team. They are my inspiration everyday. I focus all my energy on my team and helping them grow their businesses, because I am committed to helping them achieve their goals and everything they deserve from this business. I am blessed to work with the most ambitious, driven and positive women who I have ever come across who support each other and me every day. We really are a truly special team. Their commitment and drive inspires me every day to do more, keep going and believe that anything is possible if you are prepared to work for it.

5. The three words that describe me best are:
Positive, kind , and  supportive.

6.  If you had some sound advice to give to anyone what would it be?
Trust the process. I am incredibly lucky to have the training and resources that the incredible Five-Star Director Marcella Burge and her team provided for her downline, TPL. I have always followed the process, and I duplicate that to my team. I commit time to growing my business daily.

My advice is simple: follow the process, believe you can do it and commit the time. Then go out and grab the life you deserve with both hands. The only way you can go wrong is to doubt yourself and stop.

7. What does your life look like five years from now?
My goal in the business is to be a Four-Star Director with a team also hitting their goals and directorship. For me personally, the dream is more time with my family, private education for all three of my boys, and savings to know my son’s future care is secure.  Oh, and a few extra holidays would be nice!
