The Leadership Spotlight Shines On: Alice Syson

1. Personal: Where you were born and raised; current city; family; hobbies; past business highlights?
Born and raised in Surrey, England. I joined PlanNet at age 20 whilst I was at university studying for my Economics degree which I graduated from last July, 2 weeks after hitting One-Star Director. I’ve just turned 23 and working in London within the Insurance sector. In my free time, you’ll find me travelling, in the gym or playing sport.

2. How have you grown or personally developed since joining PlanNet?
Since joining PlanNet, I have developed as a person in more ways than I could imagine. When I first joined, I could never have seen myself hosting Zoom calls and mentoring a team, let alone jumping on a plane to PlanNet Convention with a group of people I’d only met a couple of times! There’s more to be done but the development so far has been massive.

3. What drives you; what motivates you?
A combination of things! The financial security and independence PlanNet has given me is incredible, but the opportunity to help my team reach their goals and succeed in this business is a huge driver for me. Seeing members of my team change their circumstances; for example, being able to leave a job they hate, parents having the opportunity to earn an income flexibly around their children, or paying off debt that they otherwise wouldn’t have been able to is a massive motivator to keep going.

4. Who would you consider a role model and why?
In everyday life, my dad who I learned my work ethic from and my mum who taught me to never give up. Within business, I am hugely grateful to be part of Rachael Lalji’s downline and admire her determination, dedication and the way she shows up as a leader. I am also inspired by Lily Bajja who despite having the excuse of 3 children under 3 has built an amazing business earning her a fabulous income but also developed an incredible community and makes everyone feel valued and supported. Finally, my upline Claire Spindlow, whose staggering number of direct sign-ups is something to aspire to.

5. The three words that describe me best are:
Kind, supportive, and resilient.

6.  If you had some sound advice to give to anyone, what would it be?
Never give up, stay consistent, and don’t let your “why” become your why not.

7. What does your life look like five years from now?
Five years from now, I’ll have bought my own home. I'll be earning a six-figure passive income from my travel business with a team of others also hitting Directorship and six-figure incomes. I’ll have retired my parents and will be travelling more than ever.
