PlanNet Marketing is pleased to welcome Heidi Ellender to the 20/20 Club! Heidi lives in Suffolk, UK. She tells us, "I’m 53, proudly Gen X, and after 37 years working in the City in financial crime prevention, I found myself starting a completely new chapter following redundancy at the end of 2025.
"Travel is a huge part of my life! I love family ski trips, girls’ trips, festivals, weekends away in my campervan, wild camping and cold-water sea swimming. I’m equally happy roughing it on an adventure or enjoying a bit of luxury. I have also been lucky enough to volunteer while travelling in my corporate life, which is extremely rewarding.
"My top recent travel experience: I have been lucky enough to travel to some amazing places, but one of my absolute highlights was an Arctic expedition with Quark Expeditions in 2025. That started a bit of a polar obsession; I’m now heading to Antarctica in 2027 and also hosting my own group trip back to the Arctic.
"My community is everything to me and has been a huge factor in my success. I’ve tried to build my business by being authentic and giving people the real me, rather than trying to fit into a particular mould. I listen to what people want and focus on how the opportunity could work for them, rather than just trying to sell it to them. For me, it’s very much about listening rather than selling.
"I think it comes down to authenticity, consistency, taking action and sheer determination. I am a very determined person! I’ve also got a fantastic community around me, which has been another key part of achieving my success.
"My advice would be: Be yourself, don’t overthink it and just get started. Not everyone will say yes, and plenty of people will ghost you! Dust yourself off, take the 'no' or the ghost as a win, and jump straight back in.
''I have a campervan called Red, named after Red Fraggle from Fraggle Rock. I love nothing more than throwing a few things in the van and disappearing off for a weekend adventure."
