Congratulations to Donna Reaves for achieving One-Star Director! Donna is originally from Sussex, NJ but currently resides in Charlotte, NC, the 'Queen City.' She tells us, "I retired in June from 43 years in financial services and for the last 18+ years was a VP for WF Bank. I have been an entrepreneur since I was 26 and this opportunity has allowed me to turn a passion into a paycheck, which I have always made a priority.
"It is very important to me to give back. I sit on the board of two nonprofit organizations, Suited 4 Success and Dierections Inc. In addition, I have spent my adult life mentoring others. I love to travel, experience all cultures and embrace personal development which allows me to continue to grow and pay it forward. I start each day with prayer, affirmations and working out.
"I am achieving success because I have followed those who have paved the way for all of us. Although not easy, but simple, follow the process that Mr. and Mrs. Bradley have created for us. Consistency, getting out of my own way and as Mr. Bradley has trained us all, stop trying to resuscitate the dead and go get some new babies who are ready.
"The most important tip that I can provide is never take your 'feet' off the gas. Show up for your success, work your business daily with integrity, focus and persistence and you will win.
"I wish I could say I achieved success quickly, but that was not the case. When I initally joined, I only purchased a travel business. I also unfortunately made others and my corporate position my focus instead of running like my feet were on fire. When Covid hit, I took my 'feet' off the gas and my team dropped down to seven, because I had become complacent, which affected numerous aspects of my life. I have now re-gained that focus and commitment.
"Fun facts: There are a few from my college days. I pledged Delta Sigma Theta, Theta Beta out of Carnegie Mellon, Pittsburgh. I went online Nov. 1979 and did not go over until Feb. 1980. To my Sorors of that era, you know what I am talking about. Secondly, I was able to go to college because I was blessed with a track scholarship and went on to be the first Black Homecoming Queen of Indiana University of PA 1980. This broke huge barriers and showed others that the only one who can stop you is you."
