Congratulations to Amy Allen for achieving One-Star Director! Amy tells us, "I’m from Owasso, OklahomaI I grew up here, then moved to Europe for a couple of decades before deciding to come back home and teach high school at the same school my brothers and I graduated from.
"A fun fact about me is that I’m an Advanced Open Water scuba diver, but learning how to do that was one of the scariest things I’ve done in my whole life. Now, I’m crazy for it, and have dived with sharks, investigated ships and planes wrecked on the ocean floor, and dived with stingrays as big as a Smartcar!
"I’m a full-time teacher, and so is my husband. On school holidays we like to travel (obviously!) We have a travel trailer we haul our two dogs and one cat all around the country in; we love road trips! We spend the Christmas holidays in Jamaica, and kick off summer vacation with a stay in the mountains of Colorado every year. We were blessed to get to travel all over Europe during the years we were there, so I absolutely love helping my friends and family get to have those same experiences!
"Someone asked me the other day what I’d do differently if I had to start over again in my travel business, and the answer was easy. I’d start with the CONFIDENCE of knowing that anyone who puts the work in and is coachable can win here! That little voice in the back of my head saying it wouldn’t work was just the devil trying to slow me down, and he doesn’t get my ear anymore!
"So my advice to new reps is to work on that voice in your head and become your own biggest cheerleader. When the enemy senses something positive about to happen, of course he wants to squash that before it can develop and gain power, and he squashes it by being the voice in our heads that says things like, 'This won’t work…you can’t do it… why are you wasting your time…' Learn to be the LOUDER voice in your head that says 'I CAN do this, and I AM doing this!'
"Building my team to a One-Star team took me a year and half of consistently telling myself and the people around me that I was doing this, and putting in the consistent effort and personal development to back that promise to myself up. It really is true that if you can make yourself believe, you can do anything. Next stop, Two-Star!"
